Cods light up with new government grant
NIGHT GAMES, later starts and more options are what members of the Condamine Cods rugby club are hoping for with new field lights.
The club has been handed a $30,000 grant for the lights, which will increase visibility on the field.
The grant comes from the from the Gambling Community Benefit Fund, and social committee member Vanessa Geldard said there are now many possibilities open to the club.
"This opens up the ability to host evening games and we would also love to be able to host competitions which could also go into the evening,” Mrs Geldard said.
"What this grant does is it open up more opportunities for us to utilise the fields.”
Mrs Geldard said she began applying for the grant in January, and said the whole club was excited about the new additions to be added to the club.
The Cods grant is part of the the $466, 144 which has been allocated to 19 clubs or organisations across the state electorate of Warrego.
