Cods flounder

Rugby Union: It was a tale of two halves, according to Condamine Cods A grade coach Ben Taylor, who said "our side was a side that should have won.”

The Cods went down to the Toowoomba Rangers, 20-34 after a disappointing second half.

"We had a good 50 minutes of football, then a disastrous five minutes,” Mr Taylor said.

"We didn't play well during the second. We had a horrible 30 minutes of football in the second half.”

Though the team didn't get the result it was hoping for, there were a few stand out players from the match.

"James Prop, Charlie Friend, they played well.”

"Our fullback Ben Geldard, his last line of defence was an impressive part of the game.

The Cods next face the Toowoomba City Bears in the lead up to the finals.

"We're looking to regroup and rebound. I'm wary of the City as they're young and fit and fast on the ball.”

"We'll use last week's performance to motivate us for the next game.”
