ELISABETH Wallis-Gaedtke is more than just a girl in a Carmen Miranda head-piece. Much, much more.
She's a music-teacher, a singer, a devoted wife and mother of three primary-school-age boys, a choir conductor, chorister and actor.
Not to mention a loyal friend and someone who's always ready to help others.
You could say she's a walking textbook in the art of multi-tasking.
Elisabeth, or Libby, as she likes to be called, has one of the sweetest soprano voices you've ever heard.
She's been an active part of the Coast's musical and theatre community since the early 2000s, and her voice has brought charm, style and grace to principal roles in shows as varied as Titanic: The Musical; The Mikado; The Secret Garden; Handel's Messiah; and Les Miserables.
Libby was the founding conductor of the Sunshine Coast Oriana Youth Choir.
With her equally talented husband Scott, she was actively involved for several years in the Buderim Youth Theatre of Excellence (BYTE).
At the recent Sunshine Coast Junior Eisteddfod, Libby led her Maroochydore High School choirs to first and second places.
And if that isn't enough achievement, Libby is also one of the stalwarts of the multi-award winning, and internationally acclaimed Sunshine Coast Oriana Choir.
With her jet-black hair, ruby-red lipstick and eyes that sparkle, Libby is the perfect stand-in for the Latin-American firebrand, Carmen Miranda.
But she's every bit as much a team player as she is a brilliant soloist.
And she will be very much a part of Oriana's upcoming concert season, Fascinating Rhythm. It will be packed with songs and choreography that accentuate rhythm and the vibrancy of the music-enriched life.
You will hear songs as loved, and as varied as Fascinating Rhythm, Here Comes the Sun, Africa, Rhythm Of Life, Rather Be and Walking In Memphis, and many more.
So if you love music that's got rhythm and feeling; if you want to see a show that leaves the word "WOW'' going round in your head for ages afterward, come and see Libby and the other members of this fabulous choir at Lake Kawana Community Centre on Saturday and Sunday, August 26 and 27. You won't regret it.
