FESTIVE FEVER: Miles Christmas Carnival is coming to town this Thursday.

Christmas fun coming to the ANZAC park in Miles

THE Christmas lights are up shining bright, the trees are all decorated in homes and the count till Christmas is truly on.

The Miles Chamber is proud to once again host the 2019 Christmas street party for the residents of Miles and surrounding communities.

The chamber welcomes visitors and friends on Thursday December 12 at ANZAC park from 5.30pm to join in, and celebrate another year of highs and lows.

A celebration of the achievements of our students, businesses and the community in general during the year makes this more than a Christmas celebration.

The street will come alive with activities for the whole family, including pony rides, roving magician, laser skirmish and a cute and cuddly animal farm.

Everyone’s favourite friend from the North Pole, Santa will also be a visit from 7pm with the opportunity to get a photo with him as well.

There will be delicious food on offer from the CWA dessert station to the wonderful aromatic smells and taste of Indian and Asian food.

Be tempted by the fabulous wares on offer with the craft and market stalls – handmade jewellery, toys and homewares.

Don’t forget to support our local Lions and Rural Aid committees buy buying a burger or a hot roast roll for dinner – for little less adventurous.

The Lions club will be giving away shopping vouchers to spend in Miles over the festive season.

A huge thank you to the local businesses that have generously donated to the Giant Xmas Hamper/Trailer of Goods.

Tickets are only $2 each and all proceeds help pay for the running costs of the carnival.

It will be drawn at 9pm.

The Christmas lights in Miles are once again providing a beautiful festive display in and around our towns – organisers would like to thank Ergon for their support of this festive event.

If you would like to be part of the judging process to be named the best for 2019, please text your name and your address to: 0428 058 799.

The Judges will be out and about on December 10 and 11 – so let’s all join together and light up Miles.

Organisers would like extend another huge thank you to the major sponsors this year – WDRC, Origin/APLNG; Cameby Coal, Palmers Coaches, Brandons Engineering, Ergon and Liberty Fuels.

They wish you all a happy and safe Christmas holiday period.
