Chinchilla woman airlifted after fall from horse

A CHINCHILLA woman has been airlifted to the Princess Alexandra Hospital after falling from a horse yesterday afternoon.

An ambulance was dispatched to the property just oustide of Chinchilla around 4.30pm yesterday.

A QAS spokesperson said the woman, aged 32, had a deep laceration down her face to the lower side of her ear and was complaining of a headache.

QAS officers took spinal injury precautions and transported the woman to the Chinchilla Hospital.

Last night, the woman was airlifted by the CareFlight Rescue helicopter to the Princess Alexandra Hospital, where she remains this morning in a stable condition.

The helicopter was dispatched from Brisbane at 5.53pm with a doctor and nurse on board.

A CareFlight Rescue spokesperson said the woman fell from her horse and was then kicked by the animal as it tried to get away.
