
Darling Downs servo closed from suspected gas leak
UPDATE 11AM: All businesses have reopened after an LPG leak at the Caltex service station in Chinchilla earlier this morning.
UPDATE 10.30AM: Emergency Services are now testing for gas residual after gas supply to Caltex switched off. Chinchilla Caltex and KFC remain closed but nearby businesses including the Coffee Club and bottle shop have been reopened.
10AM: EMERGENCY services are attending to a suspected gas leak at the Chinchilla Caltex Service Station this morning.
Breakfast diners at the adjacent Coffee Club were alerted to the danger at approximately 9am when a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services officer entered the cafe and instructed people inside to evacuate.
A 200 metre exclusion zone from the Caltex was immediately established as fire service crew in breathing apparatus attended the scene.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesperson said gas was still being detected and crews were awaiting Queensland Police to close down the nearby Warrego Hwy.
"The premises have been completely evacuated and a gas representative from Caltex will be attending shortly," the spokesperson said.
"Fire service crew in breathing apparatus and attending to the leak at the pump (and) attempting to isolate (it)."

Two fire crews and police are currently on scene.
