Chinchilla buy local campaign inundated with entries

HUNDREDS of entries are pouring in for the Chinchilla Community, Commerce and Industry's Town Proud Buy Local campaign, which began last week.

CCCI manager Kimberley Lingard attributed the incredible uptake to the success of last year's Town Proud Buy Local campaign.

The 36 local businesses so far involved have been getting on board, putting up display signs and spruiking the campaign on social media.

Those who shop at any of the businesses involved in the campaign go into the draw for four chances to win 500 "Chinchilla Dollars”, to be spent at participating stores.

The first draw will take place on Saturday, October 29.

The major draw will take place at the CCCI Christmas Street Party on December 15, where one lucky local shopper will walk away with a John Deere D125 lawn tractor and fitted catcher valued at $5,000.

Also on the night will be free family entertainment, late night shopping and of course, a visit from Santa.

"The CCCI are pleased to be able to bring this to the community again in 2016 and hope people get involved and shop locally,” Mrs Lingard said.

"People are encouraged to ask for their entry forms when they shop at participating businesses.”

The major prize for this year's campaign was donated by Vanderfield Chinchilla.
