Chance for groups to get up to $2000 funding

COMMUNITY groups, clubs, and associations have a chance to apply for funding grants of up to $2000, thanks to Easternwell.

Established in 2011, the program provides financial and social assistance in regions where Easternwell has key operations including Toowoomba, Surat Basin, Roxby Downs and Pilbara.

Designed to support groups, clubs and associations that are making a difference in their community, Easternwell has delivered a helping hand to 201 organisations according to executive general manager Tim Phelan.

"Last year our grass-roots program provided funding for all sorts of initiatives including purchasing sporting equipment, resources for multiple educational programs, essential furniture and equipment as well as a deep chest freezer for emergency relief food supplies," he said.

"We're passionate about supporting our local communities and the grants program is just one of the ways we're creating a lasting benefit for the wider community."

Since establishing the program, Easternwell has awarded more than $100,000 to 70 organisations in the Toowoomba region including Heights Community Centre, Little Miracles Community Kindergarten and North Toowoomba Ladies Bowling Club.

Easternwell is encouraging people who are involved with community groups to apply, particularly if they have a genuine need for additional resources which may ensure the sustainability of either the organisation or a specific program.

Applications must be received before 30 June 2018.

Easternwell is a subsidiary of Broadspectrum.
