THE RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter has responded to back-to-back missions on Saturday after two patients were injured in separate accidents in the North Burnett region.

A teenage boy sustained a suspected spinal injury during a game of rugby on Saturday.

The Bundaberg RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter was tasked on a hospital transfer to airlift the injured boy at 5.20pm yesterday.

The crew flew to Gayndah Hospital to retrieve the patient, before transferring him to Bundaberg Base Hospital for further tests.

He travelled in a stable condition.

The Bundaberg crew was tasked on a second hospital transfer at 10pm on Saturday to airlift a man who suffered a suspected fractured pelvis as a result of a one-metre fall.

The man in his 60s was flown from Monto Hospital to Bundaberg Base Hospital.
