Car flipped on side and woman trapped inside after crash

TWO patients have been taken to Mackay Base Hospital following a crash on Sarina Beach Road.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said two units attended the two-vehicle crash after receiving a call at 1.25pm.

One car was on its side and a woman was trapped inside.

However, the patient was freed after the car door was removed, and she was take by ambulance to hospital with a shoulder injury.

The other patient sustained a chest injury.

The severity of their injuries has not yet been clarified.
