Car drives through office window

UPDATE: Chinchilla Police said they are investigating how a car drove through the front window of Chinchilla's QGC office on Wednesday night but said the incident was purely accidental.

"We're not looking at malicious intent at all,” Senior Constable William Batten said.

"We're still investigating and trying to work out what happened but it was purely accidental.”

The 63-year-old driver was uninjured and a spokesperson for QGC said there was no staff in the building at the time of the incident, which occurred after business hours at around 7pm.

"Where doing an assessment on the building to evaluate the extent of damage. We don't yet have a time-frame on how long the office might be closed but it is certainly closed at the moment until we can assess and address the damage,” the QGC spokesperson said.

Police were called to the scene at the QGC office near Woolworths on Bell St at around 7.30pm.

A Queensland Police spokesperson said the male driver of the Toyota Camry station wagon was uninjured but was taken to Chinchilla Hospital to be assessed.
