Can you spot the panda? Illusion image sparks frenzy

TOOWOOMBA residents are finding themselves staring at black and white zigzag lines, trying to find a panda.

AN optical illusion of a hidden panda is doing the rounds on Darling Downs social media.

The image is being shared to help raise awareness about the threat to giant pandas.

If you can't locate the animal, the best way to see it is to go further away from the image or turn your head.

The illusion was created by Russian artist Ilja Klemencov, apparently in support of the World Wide Fund for Nature.

Optical illusions can use color, light and patterns to create images that can be deceptive or misleading to our brains.

They are constructed in a way that information gathered by the eye is processed by the brain but create a perception that in reality match the true image.

How long did it take you to see the hidden panda?
