UPDATE: Man's body found in Tarampa creek

QUEENSLAND Police have confirmed the body of a local man was found in a creek on Sunday at Tarampa.

A QPS spokesperson said the body of a missing 33-year-old man was located this morning after police commenced a search early yesterday.

Police divers, Polair and officers on the ground searched the site around Jendra Rd, Tarampa after finding the man's possessions nearby.

It is believed the man accidentally drowned however investigations into the incident are continuing.

"Nothing at this stage indicates the death was suspicious," a QPS spokesperson said.


POLICE divers are searching for a missing man in Tarampa this morning after finding his possessions near a billabong, initial reports suggest.

Police say a local man in his 30s was dropped off to go fishing at Jendra Rd, Tarampa on Friday afternoon and has not returned since.

Officers found his possessions at the site and are now searching the area on foot, by air using the Polair helicopter and with police divers.
