BREAKING NEWS: Police currently investigating Miles IGA break and enter

CASH and cigarettes were the target of thieves when they smashed through the doors of the Miles IGA.

Crime scene detectives have taped off the supermarket from the public this morning as they launch an investigation into the break and enter.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman confirmed a break and enter occurred at the Miles IGA on Murilla St in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

“The break in was reported to police at 2am and we estimate the event occurred sometime around midnight,” she said.

“A woman was on her way to work this morning when she drove past the IGA and noticed the doors were smashed and called police with this information.

“This is a standard break and enter, the front door was smashed in and some cash and cigarettes have been stolen.

“We do not have any suspects at this point in time.”
