House destroyed in fire north of Dalby

A RESIDENT of Kaimkillenbun was lucky to escape a house fire as their home and surrounding land was engulfed in flames overnight. 

A Queensland Fire Emergency Services spokesman told News emergency services, including the Kaimkillenbun RFS, were called to the house on Old Bunya Rd at about 12.50am.

Crews arrived to find the house completely alight and remained on the scene until close to 3am.

The structure was a highset home spanning 25m by 30m, surrounded by grass.

The spokesman confirmed QFES crews managed to extinguish the fire by 2.20am, and the grass surrounding the home had been completely burned.

News believes fire investigators were arriving to the scene this morning.
