A 16-year-old boy has suffered "multiple trample wounds" to his back after finding himself in the path of a stampede of cattle this morning.
The boy was working on his parents' property at Goganga, 91km west of Rockhampton, when the incident unfolded.
Paramedics were dispatched to the scene at 9.18am, but RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue was alerted soon after, leaving their Rockhampton base at 10.07am.
They boy has been airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital.
The boy, who complained of blurry vision, dizziness, and back pain, was treated immediately after the incident by paramedics.
RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue's "on board medical team" then stabilised the boy before he was airlifted.
The severity of the boy's injuries is still unknown.

A BOY crushed by what is believed to be a cow at Goganga has been airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital.
It is understood paramedics have stabilised the boy, who was complaining of blurry vision, dizziness, and back pain.
Paramedics were first alerted to the incident at 9.18am.
The extent of the boy's injuries is not yet known.
RACQ Capricorn Helicopter Rescue was flying to Rockhampton Hospital at about 11.30am and was unable to provide an update until landing.
An initial alert issued by emergency crews reported that the boy had been attacked by a "large animal".

A TEENAGED boy has been trampled by "some sort of beast" at a location just west of Rockhampton at Gogango.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the boy is complaining of back pain, dizziness, and blurry vision.
"They are still checking the rest of his observations at the moment," he said.
An alert issued by emergency crews states a boy has been attacked by a "large animal".
The spokeswoman could not confirm what animal had trampled the boy, but there are cattle properties in the area.
A rescue helicopter has landed at the scene.
The spokeswoman believed the boy would be airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital.
