Body of miner brought out of NT mine

The body of mine employee Craig Butler has been recovered from the Bootu Creek manganese mine where he died in a wall collapse 11 days ago.

Mr Butler, a 59-year-old Darwin father of two was caught under thousands of tonnes of soil and rock that fell in the collapse at the Northern Territory open pit mine.

Geotechnical experts had to be brought in to ensure the safe recovery of the body and a coronial investigation will now take place.
