The Block ‘villains’ could be the real winners
THE Block villains Ronnie and Georgia Caceres have had the last laugh after securing a contract with Channel 9 this morning, which could make them the ultimate winners out of this season.
Website 9 Honey broke the news today, revealing the couple would "provide advice, tips and inspiration to the Nine audience across TV and digital platforms."
"We're still coming down off the whole Block thing, and now we're shooting off to the upfronts [press announcements] - it's a whirlwind," Georgia told the publication.
"I should probably get a babysitter on-board."
Georgia added her dream was to host their own show on television.
"That's what we'd love to work towards - but we understand we have to work really, really hard to get there," she told 9 Honey.
"Our passion at the end of the day is renovating houses, and we're just really fortunate to have a platform to be able to share that with people who are interested.
"This is dream stuff for us, so we're really excited."
Ronnie and Georgia told the website that despite the tears and trauma, they had no regrets about doing the show.
"There have been a lot of great things that have come out of it, and we get to join the Nine family, so we've started winning already. It's opened a lot of doors for us and we're very excited about that," Georgia said.
During the series, the pair were forced to defend themselves after being accused of "stealing" the winning design of their children's room from a professional interior design firm.
The Perth couple then responded to the allegations, telling Woman's Day: "It's tall poppy syndrome. It felt like we were ganged up on."
Ronnie and Georgia won the kids' bedroom week on The Block, scoring the first 10 of the year's series.
They came third place on Sunday night's finale at the Melbourne auctions.
