Big burger too much to handle for Premier

ONE honour was too much to swallow for the Queensland Premier.

Ahead of her visit to the Roma Saleyards, staff at Cafe 54, the licensee of the saleyards' canteen, created a special meal in the Premier's honour.

The 'Prem Burger' featured a 200g steak, XXXX Gold onions, lettuce, tomato, beetroot, pineapple, cheese and barbecue sauce, with a side of cheese.

Premier Palaszczuk enthusiastically ordered the burger created and named in her honour, but the task of actually eating it was left to her travel companion, Agriculture Minister Bill Byrne.

The sheer size of the burger made it too much of a mouthful to handle, Premier Palaszczuk said.

Mr Byrne took an impressive bite out of the burger, commenting on the quality and taste of the steak.

Of course, it would be a worry if steak served at the Roma saleyards wasn't top-notch.
