Better luck hoped for Kropp at Tara Cup

RACING: Dalby trainer Matt Kropp is hoping the Tara track will prove to be lucky this afternoon.

Kropp will field one horse in the annual Tara Cup, when Zip To The Moon files into the barriers.

Zip To The Moon has had a patchy 2018, after great success last year.

He took out the Dalby Cup as well as the Kumbia Cup in 2017.

His recent form has been described as "patchy” by Kropp, but the Dalby trainer said he has belief going into this afternoon's race.

"He was probably an unlucky second in Rockhampton last start, so he might find form in Tara,” Kropp said.

"Recently his racing has been hit and miss but we are hoping for a good barrier.”

The cup will be run over 1400m, which Kropp said was on the limit of his horse's best distance.

"He will probably hang back and we would probably like a race which is a bit off the pace,” he said.
