Banned driver caught by police in a "female's car"
A MOTORIST caught driving on a disqualified licence, claimed he was pulled over for being behind the wheel of a "female's car".
At Ipswich Magistrates Court, this week Billijo Robert Edwards pleaded guilty to the traffic offence.
Edwards was pulled over for a licence check and a breath test in East Ipswich at 5.30pm on October 2.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Jo Colston said the check revealed Edwards had recieved a demerit point suspension on his licence.
Edwards told the court he hadn't received any mail to notify him that his licence was disqualified.
The 34-year-old also claimed that the police had pulled him over because he had been driving what he described as a "female's car".
He was convicted and fined $300 and disqualified from driving for six months.
