Bali bust: Man 'meant to buy Viagra' but ends up in court

A HOLIDAY in Bali ended on a sour note for a Cairns man who was arrested for attempting to bring a banned substance into the country.

Leander Birkegaard Andersen claims he thought the tablets were a different type of pill - Viagra.

His decision resulted in a $2500 fine and convictions recorded.

Andersen was stopped at Darwin airport in August, 2014 with a variety of pills concealed inside gum vials.

The Cairns Commonwealth Court was told there were nearly 400 testosterone tablets.
