Archers on target at Brigalow

ARCHERY: Chinchilla Archery’s fortnightly shoots are continuing to grow thanks to the efforts of the group’s new committee.

Taking over from former president Mick Kekewick, Ty Ross, together with secretary Joel Hardeman, secretary Jenny Wills and range captain Peter Hutchings have been hosting regular shoots at the Brigalow Recreation Grounds, much to the delight of local sharpshooters.

On Sunday, a number of archers from Chinchilla and Dalby gathered for target practice and a bit of fun with some long-range shooting.

Mr Hardeman, who joined the club late last year, said the fortnightly shoots were a good chance to get out doors, have a laugh and enjoy a bit of friendly competition. The next shoot will take place on July 3 with an 8am start. All are welcome to come along and try out, Mr Hardeman said, adding it wasn’t uncommon for someone to give the sport a try one fortnight, and return the next with a full complement of archery gear.
