Apex club gifts new fridges to school

CHINCHILLA State Primary School now has a fridge in almost every classroom thanks to the Chinchilla Apex club.

The youth services club donated seven fridges to the value of $5000 provided by Betta Electrical to the school last week, shortly after its announcement at a recent Pand C meeting.

Apex treasurer Gavin Laracy said the club wanted to contribute a significant donation after recently celebrating its 1400th dinner meeting.

"We didn't just want to give cash. We actually wanted to provide goods,” Mr Laracy said.

Principal Dale Magner said the donation was very much appreciated.

"It's a fantastic process to be involved in. It's a local organisation helping a local organisation,” he said.

"Pretty much now, we're in a situation where all our kids have access to a fridge.

"In my time here as the principal, I think this has been one of the most generous donations to our school.”
