A QAS spokesman said the aircraft involved was a single engine Maule Aeroplane and it is believed the crash occurred after a wheel on the landing gear collapsed - causing the plane to flip.
The scene was attended by firecrews from Noosa and Pormona and the last Queensland Fire and Emergency Services personnel left the scene about 5.40pm.
