Stranger's act of kindness envelops social media

WHEN Brittany Hevey put a call-out on social media on the evening of November 5 to try and find the woman who had found her parcel in the street, she could have never predicted the internet's response.

"Calling on the power of social media to find and locate Michele Porter from Chinchilla Area in QLD, Australia. Who found this parcel with something of high/ irreplaceable/ sentimental value to me and rather than opening or keeping it, promptly stamped and posted it to me!" Mrs Hevey wrote.

"See if we can locate her so I can thank her for her kindness!"

After two days, 3020 shares and 170 private messages to Mrs Hevey, Michele Porter was tracked down.

Mrs Porter explained she had found the yellow envelope in thee middle of the road in Morayfield while she was crossing the street - 300km from Chinchilla where it had been lost, and had sent it on to Mrs Hevey's address in Sydney.

"There's not many people that would've done that," Mrs Hevey said.
