Animal guts stuffed into man's mailbox

A BURNCLUITH property owner recently woke to find more than just bills in his mailbox, with kangaroo gizzards spilling from the letter chute.

Chinchilla Police officer-in-charge Sgt Gerard Brady said the man had been having ongoing problems with unlawful hunters on his property.

He said unlawful hunting in the region was becoming "particularly concerning" to police with hunters trespassing on rural properties and shooting near public roads.

Sgt Brady encouraged anyone who saw suspect vehicles to phone Chinchilla Police Station or 000.

"Don't take matters into your own hands and try and approach these people," he said.

"But don't wait until the next morning to call."
