BEFORE you approach the till to pay your bill, check out a new website app that's listing discount deals on offer at Sunshine Coast cafes, bars, hotels and motels.

If the business you're in has a deal going on Buddy, you could save some coin by flashing the offer on your phone, says Buddy founder and regional manager Danny Simmonds.

If, for example, you're heading home from the beach at Buddina and feel the need for ice cream, a quick look on Buddy today would find a buy-one-get-one-free deal at Gelatissimo Kawana.

The instantaneous nature of his app makes it unique, Danny says.

Unlike online coupon rival Groupon, Buddy is focused exclusively on hospitality and accommodation and is tailored for spontaneous users.

It's not limited to the Coast, with businesses from Melbourne and Sydney to Byron Bay and Port Douglas already listed.

"You just go onto Buddy, and show the offer to staff at the till," Mr Simmonds said.

A Noosa resident, Mr Simmonds launched Buddy two weeks ago and says his app could revolutionise online advertising in the hospitality and accommodation sectors.

Buddy allows businesses to list offers and profiles including virtual reality tours of their premises, and makes offers available to users instantly.

It also allows businesses who buy a professional package to track the success of their deals, the number of people clicking on their profile and provides access to other analytics.

"I travelled around for four months talking to businesses -more than 400 of them - about the idea," he said.

"Everyone loved it."

Mr Simmonds says the business is in its early stages, but over the coming months aims to accrue 1000 listings.

At this point he'll be able to expand considerably, as investors are keeping a close eye on his creation, he said.
